MARTEL

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mrs. Nicole Martel (Guertin) of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Nicole passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the TBRHSC on October 17, 2018.

Born December 4, 1950 in La Sarre, Quebec. She was raised in La Sarre and moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1980 with her husband Yvan Guertin, and two sons. She was a hard working wife, Mom, Grandmother, she loved to bowl and play Bingo, she loved to hang out with her bowling team mates. Nicole was a long time employee at Canadian Tire. Her greatest joy was her two sons Steve and Pierre and her grandson Isaac.

She is survived by her son Steve (Andrea), grandson Isaac, son Pierre (Linda), also survived by her sisters Rachelle, Colette, Claudette (Real), Suzanne (Richard), Sylvie (Patrick), brothers Rejean, Guy, Phillip (Marielle), Bruno (Nathalie).

Nicole was predeceased by her husband Yvan Guertin, mother Therese Dumouchel and her father Paul Emile Martel, her sister Carol Martel, her brothers Jean-Luc Martel, Jean-Pierre Martel and granddaughter Brooklyn (Gladun) Guertin.

Cremation has taken place, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The family would like to thank all the nursing staff and doctors who went above and beyond caring for Nicole.

A Celebration of Life will be held November 4, 2018, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Moose Hall on Fort William Road. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
Interment will take place on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in La Sarre, Quebec.
