It is with heavy hearts the family of Randy Franklin Chambo announce his passing in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Randy was born on March 24, 1955 in Peterborough, Ontario to Theodore and Helena Chambo. His father lovingly gave him the nickname β€œNiska” which meant Canada Goose. In recent years, he worked as a Chef's Assistant at the Valhalla Inn.

Randy is survived by his loving partner of 20 years Susan Sandau. He was the beloved father of son Darren Chambo, daughter Chauntel Eggleton; step-daughter Wendy (Devon) Meekis; step-son Jason (Rose) Stephens and grandchildren Cyanne, Mya, Kya and Nyema. Randy will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters Donna (Larry), Dan (Nancy), Scott, Dianna, Gerry (Jacquie) and Alan. He was also loved by many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his parents Helena and Theodore Chambo.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Valhalla Inn.

To all of the Chambo family as well as to Susan and her family, my sincerest condolences goes out to each and everyone of you. Lots of good memories of Randy as Uncle Pete and I pretty much grew up with you all. On the lighter side, when he worked for me at Red Lobster he missed a day of work. No phone call no nothing. When I asked him about it the next day he said, and I quote β€œ Well Aunt Heather, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do, I went fishing” Now that was Randy. πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ’˜πŸ™πŸ™

The loss of a loved one is never easy. We mourn are loss by reflecting back on our cherished memories that we shared. So now I reflect on my brother Randy and how he told me to exercise which I still do. How much he enjoyed playing sports and the outdoors. He loved to go fishing. He bought a kayak which I got to use and now I still kayak. He helped others by inspiring them to do better and had a wild spirit that some people did not understand and now one could control. RIP
