Condolence From: Len and Nancy Chaykowski
Condolence: Dear Leslie Dallas and Quinn We would like to extend our condolences, love and prayers to you at this very difficult time. Although we are unable to be in attendance today our hearts and spirits are certainly there with you.Losing Bob was like losing a family member for us, he touched our lives that much. It is difficult to know what to say at a time like this but we thought we would express some of the many special memories we have of Bob. First of all, one could not miss the fact that Bob had an unlimited love for all three of you and for all of his family. This was very evident in his every action as we wathed our families grow and mature over the last thirty years. Secondly, Bob had an unlimited zest for life.No matter what the occation , he always wanted to party and dance just a little bit longer; he always wanted to play with the kids and maybe keep them up just a little bit longer; on long walks, picnics or visits to camp, he always wanted it to go on just a little bit longer; and on the ski hills he would always want to make one more run so the day would last just a little bit longer. That was always Bob markall, squeeze every last second out of everything that he so loved and cherished. Thirdly, we could not help but notice that Bob had the weirdest and most loveable sense of humour of anyone that we ever knew. You would never know what to expect at any given time at any given event but one thing was always certain, he would make you laugh or smile or sometimes very angry, right Quinn? And finally, we do not know of anyone who could have faced his situation with any more courage , determination, strength and sheer will than Bob Markall. He fought with all of his being for as long as he possibly could. That is how we will remember Bob. He will live on in us and in everyone that knew and loved him. Love Len and Nancy Chaykowski

Condolence From: Linda Siczkar & all at K-9 Studio Dog Training Centre
Condolence: To Bob's family and friends, my deepest condolences. I have known Bob and Calamity for many, many years - in flyball, and agility. In my near tragic accident 2 1/2 years ago, and seeing Bob and Len at the Golfdome, it was the beginning of our continued friendship that of course, revolved around dogs. While attending Neuro Day at St Joe's, once again Bob and my path were to cross. We were both waiting for an appointment. It was that meeting, that led Bob, Len and I, to spend part of the summer of 2003 together. Bob and I (well, mostly Bob), mentoring Len on how to run Calamity in agility. Len deserves alot of credit. Bob had done so well with Calamity, that she was competing at the "Elite" level - the highest, most difficult level of agility. Thru Bob's persistance, and his love of his dog, he molded Len into an excellent handler. At our August competition, Bob and his wife watched Calamity perform with Len, and gain qualifying scores - a very, very difficult achievement (and one, I must say, that I am still damn jealous over to this day - Len, have I got the dog for you :o}!!! Bob, if there is a Rainbow Bridge up there for you waiting for Calamity, get studying and walking those agility courses, and stay sharp in flyball. You'll have all our greatly missed agility and flyball dogs lining up to play with you until we are there one day to cross the Bridge with them. Your spirit and bravery will always be with us at K-9 Studio.

Condolence From: Frank and Arva Costa
Condolence: Dear Leslie, Dallas and Penny, and Quinn: We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Bob. Our family has many wonderful memories of Bob and the Markall School of Dance. Our daughters Melissa and Melanie spent many happy years with the dance school taking dance, baton and gymnastics. Bob even talked me into taking part in a Duluth Christmas Parade as he was short one flag carrier. So there I was in my little outfit marching down main street carrying a flag in -30 weather trying so hard to stay in step and make to the end of the parade without getting in everyone elses way!! Thanks for the memories Bob. Also my husband Frank enjoyed playing basketball with Bob only to come home with another ache or injury...that fitness stuff can really hurt sometimes! Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you Leslie and all your family.

Condolence: Leslie, Quinn and Dallas, My deepest condolences to you all over the loss of a husband and father. Bob Markall was my grade 5 teacher at Pine Street School. He was one of my very favourite teachers and I have fond memories of him. He was very well liked by all his students! I particularly remember an overnight "campout" to "Mr.Markall's" house. Our whole class came out and shared in all sorts of activities and then slept out in tents at the property. It was great! Mr. Markall was a special person and he took interest in his students and their well being. He touched many lives. He will be missed and remembered fondly. Sincerely, Nancy Parkkari

Condolence From: Kristin Reguly (Love)
Condolence: Markall family, When I think of Bob, I think of a smiling face and fun. From the parades, the dance classes, competitions, teaching along side of him with baton, or the meetings of who was going to be what at the dance recital. I will hold fond memories in my heart always of the fun and laughter. Unfortunately the great distance will keep me away on Wednesday, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you. Like Bob, the kids at school need me. I hope when I have my child they are able to be a dancer and have a teacher as kind as Bob. With deepest sympathies, Kristin Reguly

Condolence From: Erin Nicks
Condolence: Dear Quinn: I was shocked and saddened to read of your father's passing. As a child and teenager, I could always appreciate Bob's competitive and athletic spirit, even though I was a dance/majorette student at a rival school. From the fire-baton work that would enrapture the crowds in Thunder Bay and Minnesota, to the acro at the Music Festival that constantly impressed the adjudicators (and myself) -- your father created a legacy that will last in the Thunder Bay dance community, long after his death. I hope you find comfort and strength in the memories of him, and from the support of family and friends in the upcoming days. Sincerely, Erin Nicks Ottawa, ON

Condolence: Dear Leslie and family: I was terribly saddened today when I read of Bob's passing. Although I knew you had said he had been through a rough spot I thought he was feeling some better. Words seem so inadequate at this time but I am sure you know just how very much compassion I am feeling for you and your family. I would like very much to attend the service to show my support to you and your family but I really don't think I can hold it together 'emotionally' but I will be there in spirit. Please email me when you are up to it down the road. Love Jo-Anne

Condolence From: Jenni Huneau
Condolence: Bob was one of the greatest people I have ever known. I danced at Markalls from the time I was 4 till I was 19 years old. He always took the time to make sure that we perfected all our routines and took us all over the country to perform. I will always hold those times close in my heart and will never forget his dedication and commitment to the girls. He made my childhood memorable and fun.

Condolence From: Mike & Tammy Fournier
Condolence: It seems like I knew Bob all my life. Most of our family was involved with the Markall Dance School through the years. As a 'flag boy' years ago, I recall Bob throwing those around those fire batons (always a crowd pleaser). Never can I remember Bob without a smile on his face. He was truly a man that spent his life ensuring that everyone around him was always having a good time. Bob touched many lives and he will be greatly missed. Leslie, Quinn, Dallas, Penny and Taryn: If there is anything at all that we can do for you, please do not ever hesitate to call. Warmest Regards, Mike and Tammy

Condolence From: Nicole Horde
Condolence: I have known Bob for almost all of my life. He was a huge part of my life growing up and almost a second father. I was good friends with his daughter, Quinn and spent almost every other weekend at their house or camp- always enjoying the time spent with the family. Since I started Dancing at Markalls in 1984 I had known Bob to be a fun, giving, enthusiastic person. He always treated myself and the other girls as if we were his kids too! Ther was always a smile on his face... that we will all miss. I know that my entire family will never forget the memories we have of Bob. From the trips to Duluth for the Christmas Parade to the weekends spent with him outside of dancing. I am just grateful to have had the opportunity to know such a great person. He will never be forgotten, Nicole Horde
