Obituary for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Shaen (Mahon)

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Shaen (Mahon)
SHAEN

It is with overwhelming sadness, we wish to announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Shaen (nee Mahon.) April 3rd of 2018 at the

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Mary was born in Fort William, Ontario on May 27, 1925 to Dorothy and Arthur

Mahon. She was predeceased by both her parents, her husband William Miles Shaen (Bill), and siblings Dorothy, Marjorie,

Eleanor, Irwin, and Bill.

She was a wonderful, kind, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mary’s greatest love in life was her

family and you would always find her with a smile on her face and a hugely positive attitude on life.

As well she was very active for over 25 years in the hospital auxiliary & quilting group and truly enjoyed her weekly get togethers

with the girls in her knitting and bridge clubs.

She is survived by her brother Arthur Mahon, children Deborah (Jim), James (Linda), and Margaret, grandchildren Kathryn, Kyle

(Melanie), Christopher (Shana), Adam (Karlie), and Erin, as well as great grandchildren , Anderson, Laila, Eliza, and Kingston.

We would like to thank the staff of Jasper Place for their wonderful care over the years, the Emergency staff, nursing staff on 2A, and a

special thanks to Dr. Bill McCready for his care which was always above and beyond.

As per Mary’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly

appreciated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
